Metal Gear Solid Delta Update Adds Inverted Camera, Konami Exploring Ultrawide Support And Performance Improvements

In just over a week, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has flown past 1 million in sales across consoles and PC. Konami has now released a new update that addresses a few fixes.

Metal Gear Solid Delta’s version 1.1.3 update for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S is now live, with the Steam version to follow “soon.” The inverted camera option is the most notable new addition in the update. Konami notes that version 1.1.3 fixes minor bugs and updates textures and models “in certain scenes.” The update also addresses game crashes and a bug where players weren’t getting their rewards for collecting GA-KO.

According to Konami, the following issues are being investigated for future fixes:

  • (Steam) Support for 21:9 aspect ratio displays (excluding demo scenes).
  • (Steam) In-game feature to check system specifications.
  • (PlayStation 5) Option to select a preferred rendering mode when playing on PlayStation 5 Pro.
  • (All Platforms) Improvements to overall performance stability.

The “21:9 aspect ratio” is another way of saying ultrawide display support. As for the PS5 Pro, it doesn’t currently offer a selection of Quality of Performance modes like other platforms.

The previous update from the end of August had more significant fixes than the current one. MGS Delta retained most of the voice recordings from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Regardless, Snake voice actor David Hayter expressed his desire to revisit the role with two additional decades of acting experience under his wing. The Boss voice actress Lori Alan also shared pictures of herself cosplaying as her character to mark the launch of Metal Gear Solid Delta.

Metal Gear Solid Delta will get a hide-and-seek multiplayer mode called Fox Hunt in the fall. However, it won’t support cross-play. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is out now on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. GameSpot’s review of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater gave it a 9.

Metal Gear Solid Delta 1.1.3 update patch notes are reproduced below.

  • Added Inverted Camera Look (Horizontal) option. (This setting can be found in the Options menu under Controls.)
  • Fixed an issue where players might not receive the reward for collecting all GA-KO.
  • Updated textures and models in certain scenes.
  • Resolved most issues that could cause the game to crash after investigating received reports.
  • Minor bug fixes and adjustments.
